Our power is back on! 🥳🤞It was almost 72 hours without power. I want to thank the following people, who really showed up for us in a HUGE way: Logan, Earnest, and Jennifer & Dave S. Joseph, Jacque, Julie, and grandbaby (still without power), but whose house was soooooo much warmer than our cave, let us hang out for a bit. All the people who checked on us and offered us help: Gina, Kelly B, Carmen & Joe A, Ted, and Gigi. We appreciate everyone near and far who texted, called, and prayed. Thank YOU all. Now doing dishes and laundry, getting Alaina back on track.

So much to unpack in this picture. Joe has layered up finally, cue doomsday music. Alaina's method for warming, pull the whole hat over your head. Kindolls playing board games...um naturally! Can't keep our fun meter down even when the indoor temp registers 43 degrees. Joe found our camp stove late evening so have had a hot breakfast this morning. Fire in family room is generating some heat, thus 43 degrees. As long as pipes don't freeze, par-tay at the kindolls! BYOC- bring your own coats 🤪🙃🥶

Proof of life....chilly style. 🥶 Don't want to leave the covers. Alaina sleeps like a turtle under the covers anyway, so blessed on that; also, she slept with me. I suggested 3 in the bed, Willy Wonka style, but he said we are bed hogs...not wrong on that. Joe braved the artic temps in the basement but truthfully the basement is more regulated. He was still thawed out as of 1 am. Too cold right now to checked if I need to chip away at him. It says 13 degrees outside.

Our current cooking method. There is a candle under the strainer pot. It is taking a long time but better than nothing. No heat or hot water since 5 am. We have played some board games and warming by our gas fireplace. I have been unsuccessful in convincing my daughter we are on adventure.
